Although the 8 channel mixer has limited usability but still they are one of the easy to use mixer in different locations, such as in small music events, lecture halls, home music system etc. We can think about using of the 8 channel mixers at different situations, such as we can create the scenario by getting the sound inputs through 8 different microphones and then lining up those 8 sound source into one. These different microphones can be coupled to another source of music such as guitars, keyboards and vocalists. The 8 channel mixer uses the limited set of features and sends the new generated sound to the outputs. These outputs may be connected to high amplified series loud speakers; generally this type of set up is used in music halls.
To the 8 channel mixer we can add the input such as predefined amplified sound source or recording device with prefixed equalizers and pitch of intensity. The typical layout of the user interface of the 8 channel mixers, unlike the bigger mixers the 8 channel mixer has the output components connection on the left side while the main master control area is situated at the right side of the component. The 8 channel mixer has individual 8 channels. Each of these channels has a potentiometer which is used for showing the intensity of the sound. In addition to this the channel is provided with the knob to manipulate the intensity and amplitude of the final output sound. In addition to the above controls the channels are provided with the main central cross faders. The inputs of the channels are coordinated with the gain control button to have a buffer action i.e. a reverse intensity of the sound.
Well we have just counted the standard controls of a typical 8 channel mixer; there are some additional controls also available to the mixer's channels. These controls are used to control the treble, bass and mid-range of the sound track. In some of the mixers you might get limited control features on the equalizer set, but this is not the drawback. In fact too many controls on an equalizer can make a learner to manipulate the soundtracks in such a way that the quality of the sound may get distorted by the changed values. Hence it has been seen in the manual of the mixers, not to use equalizer more and more to avoid the overriding and interfering of the soundtracks. Some of these have the feature of auto set up of values such as frequency, pitch, treble etc. this auto set up is very useful to avoid the interference of the soundtracks.
