Starting a YouTube Channel

Starting a YouTube channel to market your business, product, service or talent is a great way to build social equity. Once you build an army of subscribers on YouTube, the audience will be attuned to whatever videos you share next and you can use this to your advantage.

In under one year you can accumulate a million subscribers to your YouTube channel. Think about that for a minute and try to comprehend the magnitude of that kind of marketing power. If you have a million people subscribed to your channel and you post a new video, you will likely have 100,000 views instantly. If you package a message into the video about your business, product, service or talent, you will become a web sensation and make a living at the same time.

There are many stars on YouTube that are making a full time living from YouTube alone but there are also many people who are making a living from their YouTube earnings as well as the earnings from other income related to their YouTube channel. You can earn money from the YouTube partner program when Google ads appear in your videos and to the side of your videos. You can also earn money by placing links on your site for viewers to click on so they can visit your other business sites.

A great way to get traffic to your channel is through article marketing. You can also build up a base of subscribers by having a Twitter account and building a following. However, the fastest way to build up a base of subscribers on YouTube is to have good content. Your videos will only go viral if you wow your audience.

Television Viewers Rejoice As Channel Selection Keeps On Increasing!

For anyone who spends more than a few minutes a week watching television, it has become apparent that television companies are in a race for who can offer the most channels and the most viewing options. This extends to everything from high definition television channels to specialty options and is making watching television a lot more interesting. For cable customers, the increase in channels, as well as the increase in supporting technologies, has been especially exciting. Over the last year or so, cable companies has transformed its television service into something almost unrecognizable.

The great increase in television channels comes largely from the use of new technologies to deliver the programming. One of the biggest changes has been the switch from analog to digital television. Analog television was an old technology- in fact, the same one that existed when televisions first came out. While analog television was good enough to make television enjoyable, it had many downsides, such as mediocre quality reception and bandwidth limitations. Cable's new technology, digital television, is a much better way of delivering television. Digital television bypasses all of the problems of analog television and offers high quality viewing and a higher capacity for delivering channels. Because digital television is more advanced, using it has allowed cable companies to up its channel selection into the many hundreds of channels. There are also new viewing options that take advantage of the more interactive format that digital television allows.

Having hundreds of channels available is a decidedly good thing for television viewers, but it does cause some problems- such as allowing viewers to figure out what is playing on each of the channels. However, digital receiver bypasses this problem by including a digital program guide, which contains a listing of all of the programs playing for many days into the future. Parental controls are also an important part of the system for anyone with small children, because they make it easier for parents to control what their children are watching.

Channel increases are made up of many different types of viewing opportunities. Regular programming, including comedy, news, sports, movie, and general entertainment channels have increased, as well as kids entertainment, health channels, and other more specialized channels. However, some of the most exciting changes have been in the specialty channels. HDTV, for instance, is increasing extremely quickly, with dozens of possibilities now open. While you won't find the full array of programming in high definition, you will find the channels that have been converted so far, plus some extras. Cable has also added many new viewing options such as On Demand television. This makes it easier for you to view movies or TV shows at whatever time is best for you. On Demand is a service that is being built upon and customers can expect even more out of it in the near future.

The fact that cable companies have been seriously building its television programming makes it easier to get good entertainment and information through the television. With the technology available today and the increasing reliance on digital entertainment, anything less would be unthinkable.

Marketing Channel Support Must Remain Flexible

Competitive companies can no longer afford to let marketing channels become stagnant over the lifetime of their product. Just as it is important to revisit and reinvent sales and marketing strategies in general over time, channel marketing support structures and services must be rebuilt to accommodate changing conditions. For example, if a company's product line is maturing and few new products are being introduced, or if margins are not optimal, manufacturers with higher-margin requirement models will need to make fundamental changes in order to remain competitive. These may include restructuring distributor channels, revamping reseller channels, or finding new, higher-margin products to sell.

One type of business that may not be flexible enough with channel support is the wholesaler group. These businesses typically stay in the middle between OEMs and their channel and other partners, neglecting reinvention of strategies and keeping outdated structures around too long. Successful wholesalers realize that reorganization to shed costs is necessary, and actively offer more services to downstream channel partners and increase demand creation for manufacturers. But this strategic process is also taking place in the computer industry, health care, the life sciences, and food industries.

In addition, while the current economy is characterized by threats and disconnects in the business world, staying on top by maintaining flexibility is paramount. Mergers and acquisitions have forced altering expenditures and focus across channels, and new requirements and life-cycle stages call for new marketing infrastructures. Also, conversion from fixed to variable costs and the creation of flexible organizational designs characterize those businesses able to roll with the economic punches.

But successful businesses also know that a flexible approach to channeling requires its own management process. Channel strategy changes affect the entire organization in various ways. Especially in the high-tech marketplace, volatility and global scope make efficiency hard to achieve-but efficiency in channels is just as important as effectiveness in reaching target customers. Large, globally-scoped companies must conquer the following challenges:

Localize strategies
Create and mobilize cross-functional teams
Generate accurate sales forecasts
Roll up results on a regional and global scope using common processes and nomenclatures
Achieve innovation on tighter budgets by utilizing customer input for product development
Deliver greater results with each new marketing campaign
Determine how to merge channels with an acquired company
Effectively expand sales across international borders
Launch an original or first product
Manage multiple channels to dominate a new market

Cross Channel Marketing For the Retailer With the iPad

Cross Channel Marketing is a critical factor to a strong and successful marketing campaign. Not to be confused with multi channel marketing, BusinessDictionary.com defines Cross Channel marketing as the "use of one marketing channel (such as direct mail or internet) to support or promote another channel (such as retailing)." This will help coordinate your marketing goals to the consumers and will ensure the strengthening of your companies brand awareness. This continuous coordinated message directly targeting specific demographics, in a specific location, who speak a specific language will reduce costs and improve overall effectiveness of targeting the right consumer at the right time. Now there is a new vehicle that can bring Cross Channel marketing to new level: the iPAD.

The introduction of the iPAD is so exciting because it opens the door for a new channel that did not truly exist before. This is a media rich mobile device that lets users combine videos, news magazines and publishing all into one device. Digital magazines and digital newspapers will soon become a standard medium over the next few years. A recent article from RetailSystemResearch.com states "One of the fundamental changes going on in mobile computing & communications is the migration from living in a 'two mobile device environment' with most people having a notebook (information creation & personal library) and a cell phone (calls & messaging) to a 'three mobile device environment' with most people having a notebook to create and manage content, a tablet for eBook reading and rich media playing (videos, TV, movies), and a cell phone for calling and messaging. The iPAD represents the beginning of the convergence of these channels and we should expect retailers and other organizations to begin working on integrating information for the converged three mobile device environment.

Retailers interested in engaging in Cross Channel marketing promotions should consider the iPAD as a new channel. The iPAD is an important development because it allows retailers to create ads that are interactive, user friendly and offer multimedia content. As an example, consider an automotive advertisement, where consumers can view a 3D display of a car, change the color and then send it off to friends and family as they commute to work on the train. iPADs can also be outfitted with location technology. This gives retailers the ability to deliver ads based on the consumer's proximity to a store or outlet. This is an incredible opportunity to deliver 'call to action' advertisements to mobile users.

While some retailers support Cross Channel promotions, many do not have systems in place to automate the promotions process. In order to design an effective promotion that integrates the iPAD, retailers need to ensure that their promotions systems can support this new channel. Those retailers that tend to rely on manual processes will fall further behind their competitors as new devices, such as the iPAD, reach consumers hands.

While it is still early to determine how the iPAD will change the promotions landscape, we expect retailers will require changes to their planning and promotions workflow and therefore to the systems that support their promotions process. With this new opportunity, retailers will have access to just-in-time promotional vehicles. Therefore, retailers should think about how long it takes for them to create an ad campaign. Now is the time for taking action to shorten the ad production cycle with new and improved systems that automates as much of their process as possible.

How To Build & Manage Effective Distribution Channels

Let's talk about building and managing effective distribution channels...third party distribution channels that can help your company to take itself to the top of its market and beat your competition. Many companies, for years, have looked at third party distribution channels as a vehicle for fast acceleration of their sales. There's a plethora of different types of third party distribution channels out there that you can select, develop and manage for sales success. Those range from value added resellers, to system integrators, to manufactures reps, to OEM's, to distributors, and to agents as well as international representatives. All of these types of third party distribution channels are immediately available to many companies and can be deployed for a fraction of the cost of a direct sales force.

In addition to that, the cost can be very variable and can be absorbed by the actual sales revenue as it's produced, as opposed to being up front, fixed and unavoidable when you deploy a direct field sales team or inside sales team.

One of the biggest mistakes that companies make when they deploy a third party channels however, is to think that the companies that they sign up are going to do the work on their own without any support from you. One of the things that we've seen over and over again as companies spend a huge amount of resource and effort to go start, create, deploy third party system integrated value added reseller networks but they don't provide any resources, any management, any support to them after they come on board. If your company is thinking about deploying those kinds of third party distribution channels one of the hidden costs associated with that which you want to make sure that you factor in, in addition to discounts and commissions that you're going to pay, is the amount of sales support, distribution, product support, technical support that you're going to need to proactively supply to those resellers in order to make sure that they're optimized in their sales performance for you.

A lot of companies think that if they can sign up a network of system integrators and resellers they'll go sell on their own. But the fact is, when the distribution channel of the ones that provide active support in the form of lead generation, in the form of sales support, and in the form of technical support training for their reseller, they gain active share from their resellers, so their resellers are thinking about promoting their products verses their competition. All sorts of incentives, rewards and recognition programs are available to be put in place just as you would put in place for your direct fields sales team if you were to have a direct sales force.

The rule of thumb that I've found is treat your resellers and third party distributions channels just as if they were your own employees. Understand how to motivate them, how to get to know them, create relationships with them, spend time with them in the field, make sure that they have the resources and support in order to be effective at their job and you can win the distribution channel and get them selling for you. If you think that you're going to get something for nothing from third party distribution channels, you're probably wrong. The fact is, nothing is free in sales and it certainly implies to the notion of third party distribution channels. We'll talk in subsequent articles about how you can actually improve the management you sell through using some basic techniques of channel management.

Car Stereo Line Output Converter

Line output converter can be defined as a small device that converts high-voltage speaker-level signals to preamp-level signals; which is acceptable to an amp. If u want to connect an amp to your car stereo which doesn't have a speaker level inputs then it means you need a line output converter to have a preamp outputs. So you can connect your receiver to an amp by converting your receiver's speaker output into preamp-level signals. It consists of a transformer and (10 to 20 watts) a high-voltage resistor and connects to amp by using RCA patch cable. The amplifier in the head unit is being loaded by the resistor. It has also an adjustable gain feature to pull output.

Most of the line output converters have wire to ground the transformer. When the head unit is "on" the voltage on the output speaker wires, is almost half of the DC battery and changes rapidly when it is "on". Whereas, when the unit is "off", the voltage is 0 volt DC. As we already said, that the head unit's outputs has a large quick increase in DC voltage when the head unit is turned on. The transformer will provide the variation of voltage between the two input terminals. Since the DC voltage increases at the same time on both the input terminals, then the rhythm of the DC is irrecoverable. There are different types of Line Output Converters available in the market but Gizmo Peripheral is remained the industry leader in high quality LOC's.

There are simple Instructions for the line output converters which need to take in consideration. So connect the audio cable speaker's leads to the device from the car stereo. The line output converter then trims down all the inwards bound speakers' level audio signals until the outgoing signals get adjusted to the preamp inputs on the amplifier. An adaptor scosche performs many different applications. It accepts speaker level outputs and converts them to preamp level outputs. It has a fader control feature also that means; we can hook 2 channel amplifier or 4 channel amplifier easily and can not lose any fader control.

Adjustable line output converters helps to convert the radio speaker level output to the lower amplifier RCA level input. Installers use to convert their speaker level stereo to RCA levels with the help of Hi/low adaptors which hooks to an external car stereo amplifier. Hi/low converter with 2 channels and 4 channels are also available with or without adjustments. It is important to note that the match between your car stereo and amplifiers are the same. Adjustable hi/low converters allow to fine tune the hi/low device to match levels in the car and are the most popular in adjustable output converters. There are many adjustable output converters in 2 channels and 4 channels available. For example, Soundgate "LOC A" adjustable high performance Hi/Low adaptor features full DC isolation and handles 40 watts and Soungate "XR4", this performs dual functions such as to add an aftermarket receiver to a factory amplifier system or to add four channel amplifiers to a factory receiver. This feature can make adjustments on all four channels.

How Men and Women Channel Their Frustration

It is not everyday that you feel elated and ecstatic. Even though you had, a good run during the week, it is still not an assurance that you will not get frustrated on or before the weekends. Anything is possible and when you get frustrated, you have several ways of channeling this frustration. By channeling these frustrations your rid your body of all its stored excess energy. There are several ways to do this an example of which is by working out after work, going for a run or a walk, or if you are a writer you release your energy by writing your thoughts down.

However, there is another kind of frustration the sexual frustration. Men who have been abstinent for quite some time are familiar with this kind of frustration and its effect on their mood. When this kind of frustration sets in men tend to become angry and aggressive. Oftentimes, their innocent alarm clocks or doors are the unsuspecting victims whenever they feel the need to vent out. This is a natural reaction because when men are kept from fulfilling their desires they get angry merely because the level of testosterone is driving them crazy.

On the other hand, women react differently when faced with this kind of frustration. They do not get angry nor do they get aggressive. Instead, they get excited. It appears like anger but in reality, it is not. After excitement, the woman is then turned on. At this point, another form of excitement sets in called sexual excitement. Actually, this second type of excitement is the female version of a man's aggression. The only difference is, there is no other way to release this kind of pent up energy.

This is most likely the reason why women do not get aggressive when you tease them but instead they find it pleasurable.

Disney Channel Auditions - What Do You Have to Do to Get One? Part I

Here are some things to consider with regard to getting Disney Channel Auditions

Do You Have Skills and Talents Other Than Just Acting?

You should know that a lot of Disney performers have skills that are not limited just to acting. They can also sing and dance and often lend their voices to animated characters. There are specific agents that look after these areas and sometime in the future of your acting career you may want to consider having separate agents if you want to work in more than one field.

Is All This Really Necessary?

You will find people who will tell you that it is not necessary to do 'all that' and if you do, guess what? They will be right. Anything is possible, BUT having those skills can dramatically increase your chances for success. Have skills other than just being able to act also widens your range of possibilities to get work. You automatically make yourself available for more types of jobs. Look at Zack Efron for example. He sings, acts and can dance!

It's About More Than Just The Look

What I have found is that many youngsters rely on being good looking or even beautiful. Those who fit into that category should realize that there are so many good looking kids out there and that if they really want to have a chance at getting Disney Channel auditions, because of the enormous amount competition, it is really necessary to do something to set themselves apart from the rest of the crowd.

What Agents Want

But first, remember that when you are looking for an agent that you will have a better chance of getting signed if you have a headshot and professional actor resume and have taken some classes or participated in on-going training. What's even better is if you are training in a reputable school and/or acting teacher. You can increase those chances even more if you have some experience performing. All of this shows you have at least some experience in the field that you are hoping to break into and that you are serious.

Do You Have Stars In Your Eyes Or Are You Serious?

Casting directors and agents know that there are so many kids and even adults with 'stars in their eyes' and the dream of becoming famous who are not even willing to do the basic work that is necessary to get started. They just want to be discovered. People like that won't go very far and those casting directors and agents don't want to work with people like that. If you really want it, then you have to be willing to work for it! Remember it's not about being discovered, it's about working hard to position yourself to be discovered.

How Can You Prepare?

You could take private singing lessons, join your local youth theatre group, drama club at school or even work as an extra to get experience in a professional environment. These are all ways of giving yourself necessary exposure and gaining experience. Just keep in mind that when you do meet with an agent you should always take a parent or guardian with you and you should never be expected to give them any money up front. Agents take a cut from what you earn so they don't get any money until you do.

Stay tuned from more articles about Disney casting calls and general information about how to start an acting career.

Cisco CCNA / CCNP Certification: How And Why To Build An Etherchannel

CCNA and CCNP candidates are well-versed in Spanning-Tree Protocol, and one of the great things about STP is that it works well with little or no additional configuration. There is one situation where STP works against us just a bit while it prevents switching loops, and that is the situation where two switches have multiple physical connections.

You would think that if you have two separate physical connections between two switches, twice as much data could be sent from one switch to the other than if there was only one connection. STP doesn't allow this by default, however in an effort to prevent switching loops from forming, one of the paths will be blocked.

SW1 and SW2 are connected via two separate physical connections, on ports fast0/11 and fast 0/12. As we can see here on SW1, only port 0/11 is actually forwarding traffic. STP has put the other port into blocking mode (BLK).

SW1#show spanning vlan 10

Interface Role Sts Cost Prio.Nbr Type

Fa0/11 Root FWD 19 128.11 P2p

Fa0/12 Altn BLK 19 128.12 P2p

While STP is helping us by preventing switching loops, STP is also hurting us by preventing us from using a perfectly valid path between SW1 and SW2. We could literally double the bandwidth available between the two switches if we could use that path that is currently being blocked.

The secret to using the currently blocked path is configuring an Etherchannel. An Etherchannel is simply a logical bundling of 2 - 8 physical connections between two Cisco switches.

Configuring an Etherchannel is actually quite simple. Use the command "channel-group 1 mode on" on every port you want to be placed into the Etherchannel. Of course, this must be done on both switches if you configure an Etherchannel on one switch and don't do so on the correct ports on the other switch, the line protocol will go down and stay there.

The beauty of an Etherchannel is that STP sees the Etherchannel as one connection. If any of the physical connections inside the Etherchannel go down, STP does not see this, and STP will not recalculate. While traffic flow between the two switches will obviously be slowed, the delay in transmission caused by an STP recalculation is avoided. An Etherchannel also allows us to use multiple physical connections at one time.

Here's how to put these ports into an Etherchannel:

SW1#conf t

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

SW1(config)#interface fast 0/11

SW1(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode on

Creating a port-channel interface Port-channel 1

SW1(config-if)#interface fast 0/12

SW1(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode on

SW2#conf t

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

SW2(config)#int fast 0/11

SW2(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode on

SW2(config-if)#int fast 0/12

SW2(config-if)#channel-group 1 mode on

The command "show interface trunk" and "show spanning-tree vlan 10" will be used to verify the Etherchannel configuration.

SW2#show interface trunk (some output removed for clarity)

Port Mode Encapsulation Status Native vlan

Po1 desirable 802.1q trunking 1

SW2#show spanning vlan 10 (some output removed for clarity)

Interface Role Sts Cost Prio.Nbr Type

Po1 Desg FWD 12 128.65 P2p

Before configuring the Etherchannel, we saw individual ports here. Now we see "Po1", which stands for the interface "port-channel1". This is the logical interface created when an Etherchannel is built. We are now using both physical paths between the two switches at one time!

That's one major benefit in action let's see another. Ordinarily, if the single open path between two trunking switches goes down, there is a significant delay while another valid path is opened - close to a minute in some situations. We will now shut down port 0/11 on SW2 and see the effect on the etherchannel.

SW2#conf t

Enter configuration commands, one per line. End with CNTL/Z.

SW2(config)#int fast 0/11

SW2(config-if)#shutdown

3w0d: %LINK-5-CHANGED: Interface FastEthernet0/11, changed
state to administratively down

SW2#show spanning vlan 10

Spanning tree enabled protocol ieee

Interface Role Sts Cost Prio.Nbr Type

Po1 Desg FWD 19 128.65 P2p

SW2#show interface trunk

Port Mode Encapsulation Status Native vlan

Po1 desirable 802.1q trunking 1

The Etherchannel did not go down! STP sees the Etherchannel as a single link therefore, as far as STP is concerned, nothing happened.

Building an Etherchannel and knowing how it can benefit your network is an essential skill for CCNA and CCNP success, and it comes in very handy on the job as well. Make sure you are comfortable with building one before taking Cisco's exams!

Free Online TV Channels - How to Download a TV Channel Software

To download free online television into your computer or laptop, you will need to have installed a special software.

This software is like a portal that has all the links to world stations. There are hundreds of them being sold online but if you are not careful, you could end up with a bad software.

Once you have identified a good and reliable web software, the next thing is to visit their website and fill in an order form. You will be directed to a special page for downloading the software once you are done with the check out details. The download is similar to any other operating software download that you have previously done online.

Once the download is complete, you will have the full version software saved in your desktop waiting to be installed to your computer. Don't stop here. You can now install the software into your computer system by double clicking on the small icon on your desktop screen.

It usually has a miniature satellite dish and decorder in case you can't find it on your desktop. Installation will be through in less than two minutes and you can now start using the software.

But before you do that, you need to check if you have a proper media player. If you are on Windows 2000, 2003, XP or vista, then you have a default media player and you can start selecting stations to view.

If you don't have a media player or its corrupted, then you can just Google 'free media player' and you will get very many of them to download. The good ones are Windows media player, Winamp, VLC, Real Player and Nero player in that order. These are all free of charge to download online.

You can now start selecting the stations to watch. The software I use comes with an easy to use toolbar which arranges the stations into countries and then in languages. You will be given a choice to select the region you want web TV from.

Once you have selected a region or country, the software will list hundreds of stations available in that country. You can then proceed to click on the channel you want to view.

The radio stations available are also arranged according to countries of origin and then the genre of music that you want to listen to.

The software came with a lifetime membership that entitles me to a free upgrade every year and for only $50. It is among the best online software and I have never had reason to check out others that even promise 10,000 channels. Why would I need all those channels for anyway?

Fractal Channel For TradeStation - Boost Your Profits With Real Time Support and Resistance

There are essential concepts for TradeStation Traders to understand if they expect to be successful at trading. Read through this article for a clear understanding of the 3 vital aspects of trading; price action, volume (time segmented volume), and real time support and resistance. Of these three, price action is the most critical.

Price and time are what creates price action in the form of bars or candlesticks on your trading charts. Understanding price action is critical. If you try to trade against price action, you will lose money. Price is always right, and it never takes your opinion into consideration. Traders will all too often get sidetracked into searching for some magic indicator, many of which have tremendous lag. These typical lagging indicators are too far removed from price action to be the basis for making trading decisions. Traders that primarily use these lagging indicators can end up making correct decisions based on bad indicators which results in losing trades.

The second vital point to consider is volume. Volume is hard to understand if you use the typical volume indicators like average volume. What will often happen, for example in stock trading, is the first thing in the morning there will be a big influx in volume because the market has been closed over night. So in the morning you have this big volume spike that is hard to make any sense out of as it distorts average volume indicators making them inaccurate. During the middle of the day, when most of the floor traders leave for lunch, the volume really dries up and you have the lunch doldrums. Later, at the end of the day, everyone attempts to make their adjustments before the markets closes and there is another big volume spike. All of this distorts average volume indicators.

So, what does "average" mean if you are looking at these big spikes at the beginning and end of the day and this doldrums period during the middle of the day? You wind up getting a distorted view of market volume.

On top of that, if you happen to change the time frame on your chart, the volume will be different because you are looking at different lengths of time and thus different volume. In addition, volume analysis does not exist for most forex traders. Volume also looks very different from one symbol to another symbol since you might go from one symbol that trades 10 million shares a day, to another symbol that trades 10 thousand shares a day. Again, all of this makes volume very difficult to understand.

There is a way to make sense out of volume. If you are trading intra-day, the best volume indicator to use is "time segmented volume." Time segmented volume will take the bar you are looking at and compare it to the prior bars of the exact same time over the past month. For example, if you look at the 9:45 am bar on a 5 minute chart with time segmented volume, it treats every 5 minute bar as an independent time slice and compares the volume on this specific time bar against the same exact time bars over a 21 day period (which is one trading month). It will then display the average percentage of what that current 9:45 bar volume is in relationship to all the other 9:45 bars over the last 21 days. Now you have a true time segmented volume normalized indicator. You read time segmented volume normalized exactly the same across all time frames, all charts (even forex charts), and all symbols. It will look through the volume distortion issues we discussed above and will show you an accurate picture of volume for every single bar. You will see "true" volume without the distortions. Time segmented volume normalized really is the best volume indicator to use if you are trading intra-day.

When you want to analyze time segmented volume, you compare the candlestick bar against the volume bar and look for them to be consistent or divergent. For example, you may have a 200% of normal time segmented volume bar, but you look at the candlestick and notice that it started low and then ran up, say 2 times normal height, but then it pulled back all the way down into the bottom 25% of the bar when it closed. You can still have a small green body, but this pullback into the bottom 25% shows a divergence between the volume bar and the candlestick bar and tells you the volume was bearish volume caused by the bears coming in and reversing the direction of the price action. If you read volume in relationship to price action it will tell you a lot of very useful trading information. This is the key to really understanding volume, comparing the time segmented volume bar vs. the candlestick bar.

It is price action and volume action that creates the price bars on your trading chart and every chart shows support and resistance areas. When price is moving up 4, 5, or 6 bars in a row, and all of sudden it stops moving up, that might be from selling volume pushing the price the other way as the bears take over control. This price action change of direction is a resistance point. Support and resistance really is about where price changes direction.

Most traders only see support and resistance after the fact. It is really easy to look at something after the fact and say, "oh, had I done 'such and such,' that would have been a good trade." Hind sight is worthless in trading. The fractal channel displays real time support and resistance and shows in real time where these changes in price action happen, giving you a good visual illustration of where to place your trade entries. For instance; if price is moving down and stops at the fractal channel, meaning stops at a prior level of support, and then starts moving back up, this is a good entry point.

For this example once you are in a long trade, the fractal channel will move up with each new support point that develops, showing a series of higher support points (an up-trend). The fractal channel shows the direction of the trend with a green trend line to display these higher high support points.

Another useful purpose for seeing support and resistance is for proper stop loss placement. Most traders decide where they want to place their stop loss based on some arbitrarily dollar amount of risk. This really makes no sense from a technical trading stand point. What does make good technical sense is for you to place your stop loss underneath a prior support area for a long trade. If the support does not hold, then you want to be out of that trade anyway. That is the proper placement of a stop loss. So the fractal channel becomes very useful not only for entries based on support and resistance, but for stop loss exit management too. The Fractal Channel allows you to place your stop loss based on support and resistance, and as you make profit in your trade, moving your stop as a trailing stop to lock in more profits. This support and resistance approach is an intelligent stop loss placement methodology.

The fractal channel also helps with position sizing. If you plan to make a long trade you know where the support is and your stop loss should be under this area. That distance from the entry price to the stop loss price is the risk per share which is the basis for good position sizing. You calculate your position sizing from using a certain percentage of your account balance divided by the stop loss risk per share amount and you come up with the appropriate position size for that trade entry.

Setting your stop loss below the support area and moving the trailing stop up based on support areas often allows the trade to run for quite a while before you exit the trade, which means more profitable trades. The last thing you want to do is exit a long trade prematurely when the fractal channel is still going up and still showing you are in a long trend. The fractal channel is a great tool in that regard.

The fractal channel assists the trader in all three important areas: trade entry, trade stop loss placement, and position sizing. Since the fractal channel tracks where price changes direction in real time you will see the best points to make your entries. By having real time support and resistance lines available, you can better manage your trade exits and know exactly the best technical placement for your stop loss. The price distance from entry to stop loss placement provides you the risk amount per share so you can properly calculate position sizing for each trade. By managing your trades this way on your TradeStation platform, you will be much more successful at squeezing a lot more profit out of your trades.

Channel Partner Management Pointers

In the highly competitive and global economy, manufacturers, especially in the Information Technology world compete to get the largest slice on the consumer pie. Competition means survival as well as staying ahead of the pack. Manufacturing companies, software development, and other producers need marketing allies to compete and increase sales. That marketing allies are called channel partners or resellers. Resellers are firms that sell the manufacturer's products or services to the end users or consumers. What companies have to realize is that recruitment is not the end of the partnership; when the papers are signed and handshakes are over and done with, the process has just begun. Like a marriage or a friendship, as long as the business is alive and kicking, the partnership is evolving and changing.

In order for the partnership to last and prosper, channel partner management is required. There are practices and pointers to help guide the company in dealing with their partners and here they are:

* Knowledge. The channel must know your product and be up-to-date with the latest technology. Software companies develop products almost every year and sometimes even just months after the latest version came out. What the partner must be aware of are the constantly changing versions of the product or service they are selling. The internet has made it possible to predict or preview a product that is not even out in the market. Consumers today are very information savvy. If the partner cannot keep up, the buyer will know and will be turned off by the lack of knowledge.

* Connection. The partner is not obligated to feel loyalty towards the company but it certainly helps a lot. The relationship between the partner and the company must be built on trust and respect just like any other relationship. They have to connect in order to promote the company's products and services better. If the salesman believes in the product, the easier it will sell.

* Access. Vendors usually have a marketing department ready to promote any new product or service. It's a good idea to provide the partner with access to the marketing programs. Access to marketing campaigns will mean that the partners and the vendor are in the same page and are in-synch with one another.

* Big Picture. The business plan is an important tool to any business. The plant outlines the company's future and growth and an important part of that growth relies on the partners. The channel partners should be included in the plan and their roles should be clearly defined. Omitting their presence in the business is to have an incomplete picture of what lies ahead.

* Independence. While the importance of channel partner management is emphasized time and time again, the vendor has to let the reseller sell how they see fit. Giving them a chance to grow without hindrance from the vendor is a good way of ensuring development for both parties.

* Channel Programs. Partners need MDF (Market Development Funds), and Deal Registrations to help with sales. Another useful tool for the partnership is partner portals. It can help with lead forwarding and communicating up to date information from the vendor.

* Channel partner management is an important aspect of the business that cannot be taken for granted. All it needs is a little time and attention from the vendor and cooperation from the reseller. In the end, everyone benefits from the relationship and everyone profits.

Multi-Channel Marketing - Network Marketing with a Twist

Studies have shown that customers who buy from two channels (vs. just one) are between 20 and 60% more valuable, while triple-channel buyers are 60-125% more valuable! Plus, multichannel shoppers have a lower attrition rate and buy a wider range of products. - Direct Marketing Association, 2008

The Body Shop, world renowned purveyor of toiletries and cosmetics, is making a splash in the Direct Selling arena with it's party plan sales channel, The Body Shop at Home. In addition to stores in shopping malls and their online e-tailing site, The Body Shop has fully embraced the concept of Multi-Channel Marketing. Other direct sales companies have followed suit, as there are now Avon stores popping up in shopping centers across the United States, and many direct selling companies now have consultant websites.

But what is this multi-channel marketing all about?

Simply put, multi-channel marketing is the concept of offering your product to the customer when they want, in the way they want. Some people prefer face-to-face sales, some prefer traditional mail order catalogs, while others prefer online shopping. Most customers, however, participate in a combination of those methods, and multi-channel marketing aims to meet the customer where they are to serve them better.

At Rich Schefren's StrategicProfits Live event, MaryEllen Tribby, publisher of Early to Rise e-zine said that "multi-channel marketing is good for the customer and it's good for your business!" In fact, Tribby identifies two problems that are solved by taking a multi-channel approach:

"As a marketer, you reach your customer in the way he/she wants to be reached. Plus, you are... converting this person to a paying customer."

How do you translate this into your direct sales/network marketing business? How do you capitalize on multi-channel selling?

First, take full advantage of your company's selling options. Catalogs, consultant websites, brochures, and any other sales tools that your company provides are tested, trusted materials to help move you through the sales process. But don't stop there.

Second, establish your own personal website that promotes you as an expert in your field. I write about this so often, but it bears repeating: YOU are your company's best product, and you can't find it in any catalog! Create an online presence for yourself.

Third, develop a newsletter and maintain a mailing list, be it electronic or "snail mail", that you contact on at least a monthly basis. Create and establish customer loyalty through physical as well as electronic methods.

Fourth, use the phone constructively - customer follow up calls are NOT cold calling, and should be done on a regular basis. Sometimes a client has a question or concern and doesn't connect with you because they are busy. You need to be in contact - before your competition is.

Ultimately, network marketing is about connecting with people. The best way to connect is, as Viktor Frankl wrote, to meet them where they are. Whether by mail, phone, web, in store, or in person, it is clear that the multi-channel marketer is poised to become even more successful and valuable to their clientele as the years tick on.

The Largest Black Holes in the Universe

How big can they get? What's the largest so far detected? Where does an 18 billion solar mass black hole hide? We've never seen them directly... yet we know they are there... Lurking within dense star clusters... Or wandering the dust lanes of the galaxy.... Where they prey on stars... Or swallow planets whole. Our Milky Way may harbor millions of these black holes... the ultra dense remnants of dead stars. But now, in the universe far beyond our galaxy, there's evidence of something even more ominous... A breed of black holes that have reached incomprehensible size and destructive power. It has taken a new era in astronomy to find them... High-tech instruments in space tuned to sense high-energy forms of light -- x-rays and gamma rays -- that are invisible to our eyes. New precision telescopes equipped with technologies that allow them to cancel out the blurring effects of the atmosphere... and see to the far reaches of the universe. Peering into distant galaxies, astronomers are now finding evidence that space and time can be shattered by eruptions so vast they boggle the mind. We are just beginning to understand the impact these outbursts have had on the universe around us. That understanding recently took a leap forward. A team operating at the Subaru Observatory atop Hawaii's Mauna Kea volcano looked out to one of the deepest reaches of the universe... And captured a beam of light that had taken nearly 13 billion years to reach us. It was a messenger from a time not ...
