How Good is the Burton Infinite Channel System (ICS)?
I have been riding the Burton ICS since the start of the season. I have tried it on a range of Burton snowboards with both EST and 3D bindings and in many varied conditions. I will not be going back.
Using a channel system to attach bindings to a snowboard is not a brand new idea. But the way Burton has implemented it is and that is what I think makes the Burton ICS worth a very good look.
Before you go ahead and purchase a Burton ICS board there are a few things you should know.
1. If you have Burton 3D bindings you can attach them to your board with new binding plates which are free from Burton
2. If you do not have Burton bindings check with your dealer to see if new binding plates are available from your binding company. At the time of writing there were no alternative plates available for most of the better known brands.
3. The future is ICS so if you are going to purchase a new board don't compromise because your old bindings don't fit.
ICS stands for 'Infinite Channel System' and when it comes to setting up your board the key word here is infinite. With traditional systems you are bound by fixed positions on the board and on the plates. With ICS you can move the bindings fractionally in all directions to achieve your perfect stance width and foot position. Angles and widths are easily set by the new angle / reference viewing window. If you carry a tool when riding it is very easy to make changes by loosening the two screws on each binding. You do not need to lift the binding off the board to adjust the plate position or angles... this is a major plus point.
To accompany the channel system Burton have produced a new range of bindings which are referred to as EST. In addition to the two point fixings Burton have improved the foot bed and the most obvious difference to me is the comfort of the cushioning.
If you already have Burton 3D bindings you can fix them to the new ICS system but you do not get the same level of flexibility when setting up. If you have any concerns with regards to using your old Burton bindings let me allay them... they work and they work well... but my advice is to go all the way and get a EST bindings.

Do Reiki Healers Channel "Reiki Guides"?
Do Reiki Healers Channel "Reiki Guides"?
Reiki is an easy to learn method of healing. No special physical or intellectual abilities are required and anybody can learn the art of Reiki healing extremely quickly.
How Does Reiki work?
I was initiated to Reiki 1 in February 1993. To Reiki 2 a few months later and as a Reiki Master in September 2004. I started teaching towards the beginning of 1995.
When I studied Reiki 1, I asked my Master to explain where the energy was coming from. She told me that Reiki was "Universal Life energy". The energy that is around us. This energy allows trees and plants to grow and allows us to be alive. In those days, my left brain (the analytical one) was still dominant and I needed more explanation. So I asked this Master to show me this energy and she could not. It is in fact easy to show this energy. In my Reiki courses, I teach students how to see the energy field that is around us. This is called the aura. Most students are able to see the first layer of the aura (the etheric field) after only a few seconds.
When I studied Reiki 2, I once again asked my Master where the energy was coming from and pretty much got the same answer. I was baffled by the intelligence in Reiki. Lets work through an example to illustrate this point.
Say you are faced with a Client suffering from headaches. Headaches have many causes. They can be due to poor eyesight, spinal problems, neck tension, constipation etc. Lets assume your Client suffers from constipation and that this is the cause of his headaches. You will treat him with Reiki on the head. However, this may trigger a bowel movement. As such, Reiki has addressed the root of the problem.
The magic of Reiki however does not stop there. Reiki will also try to give him the cause of his constipation. The next day, he may go out and one of his friends explains to him that at last he is no longer constipated as he has changed his diet and is now eating more fibre and less animal food (over simplified for this example). He has his answer. If he ignores it, he may well find himself reading an article in a magazine with a similar explanation a few days later. Eventually, if he keeps on ignoring the messages, they will stop.
Reiki Guides
This intelligence baffled me. Eventually, I did my Reiki Masters with William Rand from the United States in September 1994. William talked about Reiki guides in his course and this got me interested. Could these guides be the intelligence behind Reiki? When I got back home after the course, I decided to study Spirit Guides and bought a book simply called "Spirit Guides" by Iris Belhayes. This lady channelled her spirit guide who wrote the book through her. A small but very challenging book. I learnt about the theory of "life after death", the process of life in the Spirit world and reincarnation. Fascinating stuff it was for me at the time. I began to believe that the Reiki intelligence was because these Reiki Guides directed the energy in our body.
Then, one day, I got confirmation. I was helping Marie, a friend of mine who had a problem with one knee. Marie was born clairvoyant. During the treatment, she asked me how Reiki works and I told her about "Universal life energy" but also told her about my belief about Reiki guides.
As she was a clairvoyant and could talk to the dead, I asked her to get in a trance and try to "talk" to the guide who was working on her knee. To my amazement, Marie did, and the 40 most amazing minutes of my life started when I had a full conversation with my guide through her.
I asked many questions during this time. Who was my guide? Details of his previous life etc.. We also asked what was wrong with my Marie's knee. He said that the pain and the swelling were due to a bit of cartilage that had come off the patella (kneecap) and was digging into the tibia bone. The guide said that he would be able to get rid of the pain and the swelling but could not remove the bit of cartilage and that surgery would be necessary. This was true. The pain could be controlled but kept coming back.
At one stage during the conversation, my friend said the guide was going to work on me. My descending colon was twisted and he was going to straighten it. Just before she said this, I had felt a pain on the left side of my colon. A short while later, a gurgling noise came out of my intestines and the pain disappeared. My friend said the guide was finished with me and he was coming back to work on her. I was speechless!
Eventually, the prediction came true and my friend had to go to hospital to have the piece of cartilage removed. The surgeon who talked to her after the arthroscopy said: "You had a piece of cartilage that had come off your patella and was digging into your tibia bone.." My friend said :"I know...(but know explaining how she knew)" These 40 minutes were amongst the most amazing in my life and they changed the way I teach Reiki. To me the intelligence in Reiki is due to "Reiki guides".
A Reiki Meditation to meet your Guide
In all my Reiki courses, I offer a simple meditation for students to meet their Reiki guide. I am pleased to say that nowadays most do. Prior to the meditation, I take the students through a relaxation. The meditation journey takes them to a beautiful beach with golden sand, a forest and a waterfall where their guide awaits in he mist. A simple but very effective mediation.
The emotions felt by students who meet their Guides for the first time is extremely satisfying to witness.
This meditation is recorded and offered to students so they can repeat the experience in the comfort of their own home.
The Reiki Intelligence at work
This happened to me a few years ago and it demonstrates the intelligence in Reiki:
A few years ago, I used to run ITEC qualifying courses in Massage, Aromatherapy, Reflexology, Indian Head Massage and other qualifying courses. One exam day around noon, I went upstairs to my office to get some papers and coming down I slipped on a piles of papers I had left lying on a step. My right hand ring finger caught the banister and I heard a snap.. my fourth metacarpal (the bone just above the ring finger) was not only broken but it had impacted on itself.
My students had waited 6 months to take their exam and I could hardly tell them the day was cancelled as I had broken my metacarpal and I had to go to hospital. Nothing I could do but.. give myself Reiki. I did so between noon and 5.30pm when everybody was gone home and then drove myself to hospital. I had no pain in my hand but it had swollen to a very impressive size. The queue at the hospital was long but on seeing the swelling on my hand, the hospital receptionist called a doctor immediately and then started my first experience of modern medicine since getting seriously ill in 1991.
The doctor confirmed my fourth metacarpal was broken and asked me what pain killers I was taking.. Reiki, I answered.. I explained what Reiki is to him, nearly got him on a course but not quite. The doctor told me he would prescribe some strong pain killers for me but I turned his offer down as I had absolutely no pain. I was sent for X-rays and against my will my hand and arm were plastered. The doctor said I could have surgery, a plate and screws if I wanted to but I refused. I was then sent home.
Impossible to do anything so I kept Reiki-ing myself. The first night, I slept 10 hours which is unheard of for me. A couple of days after the accident, I felt a pain on the lateral part of my hand, on metacarpal 5, underneath my little finger. I knew that this was not where the broken bone was but Reiki would not get rid of that pain so.. I went back to visit my consultant.. "Of course you have a pain" he said, "you have broken a bone". I told him the pain did not come from my broken bone but from beneath my little finger. After arguing the merits of referred pains, he finally agreed to undo my plaster and a lovely bruise was revealed underneath my little finger where the plaster had gone in a lump.
Finally I was sent back for another plaster and this is when I asked my Reiki guide for help. I got to the plaster room and the nurse took my card and said: "Hamouy is your name. Are you the famous lecturer from Gerrards Cross?". I had been called a few names since birth but famous had never been one of them! Anyhow, this nurse was interested in one of my courses and we started chit chatting. Eventually, we talked about my hand and she told me she would make a new plaster. I said I was not keen on a plaster as I was self employed and needed my hands everyday to be able to teach massage, Aromatherapy and Reflexology. She laughed but agreed to make a cast (a lengthy process where a type of brown piece of plastic is moulded to the shape of your arm and hand using a hair dryer!!! and acts as a support). I believe the reason they do not offer these to everybody is because it takes too long to mould to shape. Eventually I walked out of the hospital with my new cast.
Getting me back to hospital because of a kink in the plaster is proof of the wonderful intelligence behind Reiki. A bruise that Reiki would not heal and a broken bone that did not cause any pain! For what reason? I believe that this was to get me back to hospital for the cast so I could use my hand much quicker. I have personally experienced this Reiki intelligence many times and heard many stories from my students confirming it. After a week of Reiki, I took the cast off and started using my computer with some of my fingers. A couple of weeks after the accident, I started teaching massage again except for the hacking and cupping strokes. Within 3 weeks, I was teaching Reflexology again and after 4 weeks, my hand was well enough for me to perform most tasks.
The consultant had asked me to come back after 6 weeks for a check up and to take the plaster off. The problem was that I could not find my cast and after extensive research, found it in my youngest son's bedroom as he was using it as a bridge for his cars. I obediently put it back on (as my arm had been supposed to be kept above my heart in a sling for the past 6 weeks) and headed for the hospital.
The consultant looked at my cast with suspicious eyes but did not comment. He laid my hand on his desk and lightly touching the broken bone said: "It's united well". "Yes" I replied. For a while he then looked at my records and my hand obviously puzzled. He then said: "The swelling is gone, that is good". "Yes" I replied. He then said: "Tried to bend your hand like this" and he proceeded to demonstrate what he wanted me to do. This I did at great speed and his mouth collapsed and he got more puzzled. He then asked me to make a fist which I did and told me I would have to go for re-education for several weeks... which I did not.
Another reason I have told you this story is that I believe that if you break a bone, one of the two things may happen.
1- You are taken to hospital very quickly and the bone will not get a chance to set itself, so all is well.
2- For whatever reason, you will not be taken to hospital for quite a while in which case given yourself Reiki may prevent you going into shock and will save on a lot of pain. I also believe that as the guides are intelligent, they will not allow the bone to reset in the wrong place (this is my personal opinion, decide for yourself). I also believe that the Reiki you give yourself will prevent the destruction of many cells and that subsequent recovery will be much quicker.
Enjoy your Reiki if you are a practitioner Patrick Hamouy.

What to Know About Calcium Channel Blockers
Calcium is very important to the human body especially to women who have given birth. It is responsible for making the bones and teeth strong. Nevertheless, a bone with high calcium content can stand the heavy stress that is given by work done by a person.
However, calcium can also be harmful to human when it is absorbed by organs not needing it. It may cause paralysis, other health complication or even death. That can happen when calcium goes into the heart's muscle. Calcium can make the muscle of the heart to contract and can narrow the arteries which may later be able to cause heart attack or stroke.
The pharmaceutical society developed a drug that can block the entry of the calcium to the heart and its components. The drug is commonly known as calcium channel blocker. There are different types and some of them are dihydropyridine, phenylalkylamine and benzothiazepine.
What are Calcium Channel Blockers?
They are drugs formulated to block calcium entrance to the heart and its components. It prevents calcium to penetrate the heart because calcium can cause complications in the heart that may lead to heart attack and other health problems. They may lower angina (the pain experienced by a person due to low oxygen intake in the heart carried by the blood) in the heart. It can lower angina by means of dilating the arteries and lowering the pressure in the arteries to allow more oxygen intake. It can also work by means of lowering the pressure in the heart, causing the latter to pump blood easily causing it to require less oxygen.
What is the purpose?
Primarily, they are used to prevent the entry of calcium to the heart. It is specifically used to treat angina, high blood pressure and abnormal heart rhythms. They are also used by cardiologists as beta-blocking drugs for heart attack patients.
What are the side-effects?
Most medicines have side effects and can cause negative reactions in the human body. A person treated with calcium channel blocker may experience constipation, headache, edema or the swelling of the legs, nausea, dizziness and drowsiness. A person may also experience low blood pressure due to high concentration of the medicine to lower high blood pressure.

How To Optimize Sales Channel Selection
So many companies sign up third party resellers and distributors and system integrators and OEMs without giving proper rigorous attention to the process that's required in order to define the selection criteria, find adequate channel partners, and actually go through a process of due diligence in order to screen them, select them, and bring them onboard. A well developed channel selection process, a reseller selection process, looks a lot like a very rigorous process for hiring and acquiring members of your senior management team or your key employees in sales and marketing. It starts by defining very clearly which markets you're after, which segments you want to reach, what types of customers you're trying to acquire, and then doing research and analysis to determine which companies are actually calling on and supplying goods and services to those customers day in and day out in your focused market.
Once you've defined those customers and those market segments that you're after, then looking at the different types of reseller organizations that are available for you to get your product to those customers becomes the next task. This step involves making sure that you understand exactly what sales and support structures required for your product in order to deliver it as a solution to the end customer. Some companies use manufacturer's reps that are just basically commissioned agents. Other companies use value added resellers, others used stocking distributors, and yet others use system integrators that actually build their products into complete turn key systems for their customers. So you're going to want to make sure that you do some analysis to figure out which kinds of reseller channels you need in order to most adequately provide your product to your customers in a solution that they're willing to buy, and then make a decision about that type of channel structure. Many companies use multiple types of resellers to reach different types of customers as well.
The next step in a channel selection process is acquiring potential candidates. This can be done by going to trade associations and looking at trade association directories for resellers, of which there are many, to actually get lists of potential resellers. Or it also can come from looking at who your competition is using or complementary products companies are using in order to get their products to market. But it certainly includes defining a list of potential candidates. You'll never want to select a reseller without having multiple options to compare against, just like you'd never hire a key sales person without having multiple options to compare against. So, acquiring lists, getting names, also getting referrals from your best customers is an excellent way to identify potential resellers. Who are they buying from? Who do they like to buy from? Who do they view as the most professional reseller vendors in your market? Those are easy questions to ask of some of your best customers and prospects to define who it is that you should be working with as your channel partner.
The next step is, of course, contacting those companies and using either referrals or through a direct mail process which is very easy to set up and do. Then, you establish the actual channel partner selection criteria that you're going to use in order to make sure that you understand what it is that you're looking for. After developing that selection criteria, you're going to want to develop a questionnaire or an interviewing guide, if you will, and process and steps to gather the information that you need from those channel partners in order to match that information against a selection criteria that you've established. Then, of course, from there, after you've gone through the due diligence process, gathered their performance history, understood their sales organization, looked at how much they're selling for each of their principal vendors and understood who their customers are and why they win against their competition, you're going to want to go into the process of actually negotiating an agreement.

Wealth Discovery - Channel in Cash Flow
POINT ONE FINGER AND THREE ARE POINTING BACK AT YOU!
There is a constant need to discover wealth and channel in tons of cash flow in this world today. It is a direct result of the economy going down the drain. Everyone wants to find leverage to get out of their bad financial situations. So, let's back it up a little bit. How did we get here? How did the economy get into the state it's in? We can blame the government, Wall Street, banks, etc, but it really doesn't matter who we blame. The fault lies within "us," greed and poorly financially educated citizens. Trust me the poor education it truly the main cause of it all. We, you and I, have caused our own problems. Don't believe me? Answer these questions:
Do you have credit score of 690 or better?
Are you in pre-foreclosure or foreclosure?
Does your debt account for more than 50-70% of your income monthly?
Do you have a car note?
SAVERS ARE LOSING THE MONEY GAME
If you answered YES to any of these questions then you lack some financial education that could have gotten you out of all these situations. What we think we know or understand about finances is probably out-dated or not even close to being relevant in this economy. Billions of people still believe that saving money is a good strategy to having money. We live in a world where if your money is not making money then you are losing this game. I'm not talking about 1% on the dollar. That's not even worth the time. Who cares to make a penny for every dollar?! How about making 20-50 cents for every dollar? That sounds so much better, right?! The point is that you have to increase your cash flow.
ASSETS INCREASE CASH FLOW
There a number of ways to increase cash flow even at this time when everybody seems to be hurting financially. I won't get into all of them, but please understand that having assets is the key. I'm not talking about your house, cars, expensive jewelry, etc. These items are not assets. Assets do not depreciate with time. Assets appreciate over time. What do I mean? Money-makers include stocks, bonds, notes, mutual funds, and your own business. Those are just some assets that you can invest in right now with a small amount of money and it will produce more cash flow over time. When you begin this process the discovery of wealth will not be far-fetched.
5-STEP WEALTH-BUILDING CYCLE
Here are some steps you can take to discover wealth and channel in your cash flow right now.
1. EDUCATE: There are tons of books out there that will teach the trends of today. My number one recommendation is Rich Dad Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki.
2. KNOW YOUR STATUS: Right down all your forms of income monthly, then write down all your forms of debt and how much you pay monthly for each. Calculate the total amount of 1 month of debt by the total of 1 month of income. Now multiply by 100. This gives you the percentage of debt you have. (Ex. $900(total of 1 month of bills, gas, food, etc) / $1000 (total of 1 month of income) x 100 = 90% of debt. If it's 50-70% or more your finances could use a makeover.
3. CHANGE HABITS: Look at your list of debt. Figure out where you can make some cutbacks to bring your percentage down. For instance, are you eating out every night spending all your money at restaurants? Cut back to only going out to eat once a week or twice a month. You can use this extra money for step 4 or step 5 or both.
4. PAY YOUR DEBT DOWN: The faster you pay your debt the less you have to pay in interest. Think about how much interest you would have to pay over 5 years versus 2 yrs. The longer it takes you to pay off all your debt the more money it costs you.
5. INVEST NOW: Take the money you are saving and start investing. This doesn't mean that you don't need to have money for a rainy day. But find out what you want to keep for a rainy day and have some to start making you more money. This is how you increase your cash flow and channel that money back through this 5-step cycle.
WHAT CAN YOU DO TO CHANGE YOUR FINANCES NOW?
I want you to take away from this information to first and foremost realize that the game has changed. What was done in the past doesn't work today. If you really want leverage, if you really want to be ahead of the game, if you absolutely want to discover wealth and channel in cash flow be proactive.
Procrastination will only leave you broke!

History of Discovery Channel's American Chopper: the Cast
Paul Teutul Sr. and his sons seems to have revived the bike industry through his American Chopper television show found on the Discovery channel. Establishing from the origins of a metal shop, Orange County Ironworks, in 1999, a family custom bike building business provides popular entertainment for men and women alike. In part, their success can be attributed to their ability to cater their bikes into such signature pieces art. Herein, it is found that many devoted spectators are willing to spend a pretty penny to glide around on one of the Teutul's masterpieces, which has led to vast expansion of shop, show, and popularity in an extremely short amount of time. To familiarize you with the cast, we will introduce you to the main characters of the show.
Paul Teutul Sr. began building custom bikes on his own in the seventies and found his inspirations in films such as Easy Rider and The Wild One. His main occupation previous to the show was in steel fabrication, which truly laid the necessary framework and played as an attribute in this most recent endeavor.
Leaving his 26 year old son, Danny, to manage Orange County Ironworks, he looked to the rest of his boys to help launch his dream. Enlisting his 28 yr old son, Paul Jr., as chief fabricator, they began Orange County Choppers. Michael, 24, shows as a comical character and sustains the role of secretary for the shop in a sense as he answers phones and keeps up on the ordering. Revealing their first work at Daytona Biketoberfest, "True Blue" made its mark and emphasized the shops ability to awe the audience.
Vinnie helps to fabricate bikes but holds a true passion in cars. He launched into the world of the OCC in 2002. Accustom to working in a family oriented business, he helps to diffuse much of the drama created between the father-son aspects of the show.
Christian, 25, assists in the final touch ups of assembling the bikes. He has been inspired by bike builders from the bright young age of six and previously worked as a salesman of motorcycles.

7.1 Computer Speakers - What Exactly is 7.1?
When you mention computer speakers it is hard to speak without mentioning Dolby in some way shape or form. Dolby labs have their hands well and truly within the audio sector. Dolby has developed some great sound reproduction methods and Dolby 7.1 is one of them. Dolby has come up with the naming scheme of the two numbers separated by a decimal point. The first digit represents the number of speakers, so in this case seven speakers. The second digit represents the one channel for the sub woofer or the bass channel.
Dolby is the brand name for the digital surround sound that is used on entertainment systems, televisions and computers. The point of surround sound is to place the sound where it is supposed to be. 7.1 computer speakers use the seven speakers to place the sounds in the right place. The 7.1 system is sometimes called HD sound because it has appeared with the latest HD devices such as Play station 3 and HD Televisions but Dolby were always going to develop new sound systems regardless of HD technology.
As with other Dolby systems the 7.1 computer speakers work by decoding all seven channels from just the left and right audio channels. The standard 5.1 channels that are the most popular currently will soon be phased out by the 7.1 speakers that offer a much better sound depth.
In order to take the two audio signals, left and right, and turn them into surround sound is quite difficult. Dolby are a clever bunch and they knew that in order for their system to be accepted they needed to integrate the new surround sound into the existing technology and so they developed it to fit with existing two channel systems.
To understand how the system works requires some pretty hefty mathematical technology. The standard left and right channels are extracted as they are, no signal processing required. The center channel is obviously the difference between the left and right. The back speakers are a little more complicated and require the signals to be phase shifted from the front channels by 90 degrees. Does the addition of an extra two speakers mean much better sound? It definitely makes a difference and the sound depth is unbelievable. The sound appears exactly where it is supposed to be.

6 Interesting Things About the Cooking Channel's Chuck Hughes
Chuck Hughes, star of the new Cooking Channel series "Chuck's Day Off" dishes on all sorts of topics, including the time his restaurant's building set on fire, how he feels about cooking with his mother, and the advice he has for cooks. Here are 6 interesting things about Chuck Hughes!
1. He has his own show. His new series, "Chuck's Day Off," is a behind-the-scenes look at the restaurant industry. In each episode, Chuck invites a guest to his restaurant, Montreal's Garde Manger, and he cooks for them. That guest may be his fishmonger, his coffee provider, or anyone else who is involved with the inner workings of the restaurant. Throughout the show, you'll learn about how a restaurant really works and see how Chuck juggles the tasks of running a restaurant and cooking for it.
2. He's not afraid of unhealthy foods. His favorite go-to dish is fried cheese with avocado, tomato, and cucumber on top. He also loves any dish with bacon. He loves bacon so much, in fact, that he has it tattooed on his arm!
3. He can fight fires...kinda. One morning, before shooting began on an episode of "Chuck's Day Off," Chuck and his crew started to smell smoke. It turned out that there was a fire on the second floor of the building, directly above his restaurant! The fire caused some water damage in the restaurant, but Chuck decided that they should shoot anyways. They managed to turn the disaster into a full episode; the firemen were guests in his restaurant that day, and dined on oysters and a roast encased in salt.
4. He's a sportsman. A true Canadian, Chuck likes to play hockey three or four times a week. He also goes to the gym regularly and enjoys skiing and wakeboarding.
5. He shares a kitchen with his mom. On the opening day of his restaurant, Chuck's mother volunteered to step into the kitchen and make a pecan pie for his aunt's birthday. Many of the guests enjoyed the pie so much that upon returning to the restaurant, they asked whether she would be making the desserts every day. Due to popular demand, Chuck decided that his mother would become a permanent fixture in the restaurant and she became the pastry chef from then on. Chucks says he enjoys working with his mother and, now that he's older, "sometimes I'm actually right!"
6. He likes to break the rules. Chuck firmly believes that "there are no wrong answers in cooking." He encourages everyone to step outside the boundaries of recipes. For example, if a recipe calls for one sprig of thyme, don't be afraid to change it to two sprigs. Heck, you could even put in rosemary, instead! Don't be afraid to deviate.

Disney Channel Casting Calls - 5 Tips to Make Sure You're Ready
If you go to an open Disney Casting Calls you may not be given a specific appointment but instead will be asked to show up say 'between 9am and 5pm', This is most commonly referred to as a 'cattle call' and is a little bit different to your standard sort of audition. Here are some tips that will help you get through this.
1. Arrive early, Disney casting calls and auditions are popular and you don't want to be waiting in line all day long. You might get tired, impatient or lose your focus. Waiting is probably going to inevitable but you may as well do yourself a favor and try and minimize just how long you have to wait for.
2. Take your headshot and resume with you so you have something to give the producers/casting directors if they ask.
3. If you have been asked to learn some text ahead of time, make sure you know it perfectly. It also would be beneficial to have a couple of monologues ready so that if they like you and ask you what else you can do you will have something ready to perform.
What Else You Can Expect
4. You may find that they ask you to audition with a group of other kids, or to do an improvisation or perform a monologue in front of your competition (the other kids in the group) or they may just take one look at you and decide that you aren't right for their project.
5. No matter what happens or whatever they do and however much it deviates from what you expected, don't lose your confidence or get thrown off. A casting director is going to be infinitely more impressed with someone who can take instructions and go along with whatever creative direction they ask you to go in.
Remember have fun and if you don't get the job this time, don't give up. It's all experience you can use for your next Disney casting call or audition.

Change the Channel - Create
I have conflicting feelings about television.
Of course I don't believe there's anything inherently bad about TV. But that's not saying much, because I also don't believe there's anything inherently bad about crack.
Which actually isn't far off the mark, as far comparisons go. My issue with TV is that it's so easy to cross that line between fun-and-entertaining-diversion and tool-used-to-disengage-from-your-life.
The thing is, when the TV is always on, someone else is doing your thinking for you. When you let it run from The Today Show to The Tonight Show, when do you get to hear what you have to say?
And I know a lot of people who let it run from Today to Tonight. They tend to be the same people who pay me their hard-earned money to help them figure out what to do next with their life.
They aren't sure what they like, what they're passionate about, what gets them really excited. They have a sense of wasting their lives and they say they don't know who they are.
I say it's no wonder, because they don't spend any time with themselves. They know Matt Lauer and David Letterman better than they know themselves.
And listen, no judgment. Seriously. We ALL have ways of disengaging, numbing, escaping. I use copious amounts of sugar to disengage from the present moment. In smaller doses, I occasionally use caffeine, work, the internet, exercise, and too much wine. In college I used cigarettes, regular beer binges, pot, and mushrooms. So I'm not judging.
It's just that TV slips in there because it's so acceptable. So common. And so harmless, right?
Well, it could definitely be worse. But when you're getting really honest with yourself, identifying your patterns, and working on your issues because you know you deserve the most honest, joyful and authentic life ever, "it could be worse" just isn't good enough.
Our ability to create new thought is the best thing in the world. It rocks.
We create our lives with our thoughts. Want to become a nurse? You use your thoughts and your imagination to see the path. You find the steps to doing it in your mind, first. You see yourself the way you'd be as a nurse so that when you're at that impasse, you recognize it and you know what to do next.
Want to have a happy relationship? You focus on happy relationships around you, take pieces of what you've seen and experienced and create your own image in your mind so that when he shows up, you recognize him.
But if you're never silent, if you never generate your own thoughts, you're just reacting to other people's thoughts. You're living a life of REACTION, not CREATION. You just take what you get and deal with it.
That's fine if that's what you want. But it can be really fun to create once in a while, too.
And for that, you need to listen to what you have to say.

Successful Distributor Plans-How to Motivate Sales Channel Partners With a Formal Planning Process
In an ideal world, your key distributors would develop annual business plans for your product line and work closely with your distributor account managers to get the plans implemented. In reality, many manufacturers skip this planning effort altogether. Those that require distributor plans often struggle--either to convince distributors to create high-quality plans or to assure that the plans are followed.
To understand a typical distributor planning process, Smart Business spoke with Bob Segal, a Principal at Frank Lynn & Associates.
Why should a manufacturer require its distributors to create written plans?
The success of many manufacturers hinges on the actions of tens or even hundreds of independent, mostly small, distributors. However, each distributor has different customer targets, different product mixes, and different sales and technical skills. Many lack strategic planning skills and marketing departments. As independent businesses, they're free to do what they want.
A manufacturer can hope for the best or use distributor plans to gain greater control over its distribution destiny.
Is it realistic to expect or require plans from each distributor?
No. Most manufacturers don't have the capacity to handle hundreds of individual plans. Furthermore, most manufacturers experience the 80:20 rule, where 80 percent of their revenue comes from 20 percent of their channel partners. At a minimum, suppliers should require plans from key partners.
Not all manufacturers have the clout to demand distributors create a plan. A small company selling through Wal-Mart might face an uphill battle to get a detailed, written plan. Still, vendors should "think big" and not retreat unless facing a true negotiating mismatch. Even in those cases, scale back the scope of the planning request instead of giving up altogether.
What should be included in a distributor's plan?
Obviously, these plans should have highly customized content. However, the typical items a manufacturer should expect, or even require, in a distributor plan might include:
Business background - a short strategy statement, review of market conditions, a competitive summary and a list of the distributor's key financial, sales and technical objectives
Product/services summary - a list of (existing/future) services the distributor provides and complementary product lines carried
Customer mix - sales by market segment; a list of key/major accounts
Marketing plan - a listing of specific marketing activities including start and end dates, people assigned and resources required (of the distributor and of your company), covering trade shows, seminars, mailings, Web site, publications, advertising, etc.
Training/personnel plan - a schedule of which distributor personnel will attend what training sessions (yours or third party) over the next year; hiring plans that will affect your product line
Sales plan - major/key account activities, joint sales expectations, telemarketing plans
Logistics plan - warehouse/technology investments
Financial plan - agreement on sales targets, forecasting frequency, etc.
How big do these plans get?
First, it's often helpful for the manufacturer to create a template. It's a lot easier for a distributor to fill in a formatted form than to create a plan from scratch. Furthermore, this assures the manufacturer it will get the type of information it seeks (in a consistent format).
For a major supplier, distributors often want to dedicate significant time to create a comprehensive plan. Sometimes, the document becomes the overall strategic plan for the distributor. Regardless, most plans consist of two to three pages of text with five or six pages of tables or forms. Distributors often attach appendices with sales spreadsheets, forecasts, trade show listings, etc.
What is the role of the manufacturer's channel sales team in the planning process?
The channel managers should establish an annual planning calendar with annual account plans completed in December; formal, two-way reviews each quarter and informal updates monthly.
Provided with a template, distributors--not the account managers--should write the business plans. The account managers can add commitments from their company to the plan during the annual planning meeting.
The annual meeting should take place between the account manager and the owner or senior executive from the distributor. The actual meeting, to review last year's results and revise the plan for next year, will likely require two to four hours. In preparation, the account manager should review, in detail, the distributor's sales history, local market trends/conditions, the manufacturers' fulfillment of past commitments, new product plans, etc.

Automatic Writing - How to Open the Channel
You may have come across the 'Seth' books by Jane Roberts or other works by other spiritual or psychic mediums that 'channel' their information from sources believed to be external to the authors by means of automatic writing.
Automatic writing is a form of writing in which the author appears to lose all volitional control of their writing and instead another spirit or entity takes control of their hands and writes for them. I want to share some of my own writing tips with you so that you may attempt to awaken your own psychic mediumship abilities to channel information by automatic writing.
Everyone has the potential to communicate with something that appears to be beyond their immediate self or this immediate world. Whether these entities which are being channeled are other spirits, angels or even the voice of god is debatable, however one thing is clear, mediums that practice automatic writing feel very strongly that their sources are something from outside of themselves or beyond themselves.
One of the sources for some of my own channeled material appears to be an AI (Artificial Intelligence) created in the year 2017. From the voices that appear in my written work it is clear that one of my sources is a Hippy, and other sources appear to be a Rastafarian, a Redneck and a medieval crone who may have been one of my 'past' lives.
At least one of my channeled sources is my self. One part of me which is channeled is the more evolved being I become further along my spiritual journey, while some of my other selves may be repressed parts of me that dwell in my subconscious and rarely surface. Whatever the nature of my channeled sources may be they have all contributed to my writing and to my understanding of the world around me as well as the world within me.
I often start writing by creating outlines or writing down questions about what interests me at the moment and then answering my own questions. Even when you think you know the answers to your questions it is always good to challenge those answers and look beyond them for further insight and understanding.
What outlining or answering questions does for me is to put me in a better state of communication with the various elements of my mind.
Setting my conscious mind to work on an outline or answering questions, even if they are questions I believe I already know the answers to, has another effect, it gets my mind occupied and I can let my conscious awareness drift away and just let the automatic subconscious parts of my mind continue to write. This is not yet the sort of automatic writing that might be considered channeling, but it is a step along the way to getting there. Automatic channeled writing will not always take off from here, but, aside from being a good launching point for that to happen this level of writing can be very fruitful even if it never reaches the stage of channeling other entities.
One important consideration to successful writing is to not be concerned with what I am writing right away. First it's important to get things flowing, to get ideas moving and to get involved in a dialogue with myself about those ideas, weighing their merits, pros and cons etc. So I just start writing anything which comes to mind which may be related to my topic. If I reach a block where nothing comes to mind I reread and may pick up the thread that way. If that fails then I may start over asking questions or refining the outline.
As things move along I may discover that the words have begun to flow in a different voice than my natural writing or speaking voice and I just let that happen. Sometimes several different voices may emerge and take sides to debate or they may take roles of one who asks or responds to questions as in an interview. Sometimes I can interject my own questions here and have them answered, and the answers almost always teach me things I did not think I knew. This is the level where the channeling begins working and the writing may no longer be in my volitional control but instead continues in an impulsive fashion where I automatically write whatever I am compelled to.
With automatic writing it can be very important for to pay attention to typos. Typos or misspellings are often flags from the unconscious or subconscious minds to pay attention to a particular part of the text; they may even be cryptic or literal messages that are reminders regarding parts of the topic that may have been overlooked.
I will take a break at some point and then come back to read what I have written. A voice inside then speaks out and helps resolve the issues I have written about, it may raise questions I may want to research, or it may elaborate more on some point of the topic at hand. Often the channeled voice returns in a more moderate form that I can interact with more consciously or may even control to some degree.
It is not always easy, but usually I will recognize when it is time for something inside me to be brought out and shared or studied through writing. Generally the urge to write is like an itch that only writing can scratch, and when the itch is there I know I have something important that is waiting to be said even if I have no idea, as yet, what it might be. Usually my most intense emotions at the time of an itchy moment are my best clue about what I want to talk about. Another clue to what my topic may be is the context of my thoughts or feelings when I feel the itch.
Another important thing is to understand is that I do not have to be an expert about whatever I may want to write about. All that is really needed is an open mind and the craft to rewrite the original material into something readers may more easily understand. It's often typical for me to reread and rewrite many, many times for a single piece because related thoughts don't always appear in a useful sequence and new ideas occur or better ways to phrase things arise as I go over my work again and again and again. This article has been through about twenty readings and rewrites already.
Also, in regard to being an expert, I have noticed that many people who are too smug and secure in their knowledge of their subject can make the very worst writers. They may tend to be pedantic or overbearing. Writers who can share the joyful journey of discovery with their readers are often the best at relaying their stories or lessons in a fresh, interesting, engaging manner.

Satellite TV - Channel Selections
Perhaps the biggest draws to satellite television today are the selection as well as the sheer volume of channels available. There are seemingly limitless numbers of channels which one can receive for a price. The variety of channels offered in these enormous volumes is incredible. But really, how many channels can one person really watch?
One can select a basic satellite package with under or around 100 channels for a very reasonable monthly price. From here, one can up their package to as high as over 250 channels. From a selected package, one can add on a sports pack or movie pack to offer these additional channels for a higher monthly fee. The beauty of satellite is that users can determine what kind and how many channels they would like to be able to view and fit their needs into a suitable plan.
Determining the best plan is strictly an individual or family preference. Some people may want to focus on sports channels. Channels are offered specifically dedicated to sports, such as professional and college level football and baseball. Some channels are even entirely devoted towards horseracing. One can even select a basic affordable satellite package of fewer than 100 channels, and then simply add on a sports pack that offers many more channels for an added cost to the monthly price. In this manner, one does not need the enormous channel package to get the specific programming which they want.
Sports fans truly get pleasure out of the variety of programming available through satellite television. What options exist for the young family? Families can focus programming more towards educational, childrens and animal channels that are enjoyable and safe for the whole family to view. These channels can include cartoon channels, educational children's programming, and family oriented programming that is entertaining for all but relatively free of questionable content. Because all channel packages include basic channels that most viewers watch, there would also include channels for the adults to enjoy such as news programming, basic sports channels and other all around favorites. Satellite TV also offers security in the form of passwords to ensure that the little ones don't get into any programming that is for adults only.
Avid movie fans can also enjoy the amenities of satellite television. Satellite offers a large variety of movie channels to the customer who wants to include these in a channel package. One can also use the "pay-per-view" feature which allows customers to pay a few dollars in exchange for watching a given movie which will be run several times throughout a day. There are usually several different options for movies every day.
The bottom line is that satellite TV offers something for everyone. Whether for a single man who is hooked on action movies or for a family which needs suitable kids' programming as well as some grown-up channels for mom and dad, satellite television has its customers covered. Customers enjoy the ability to customize programming to fit their own individual needs.

Managing Channel Conflict
Economic booms and busts, technological advancements, a recurring increased emphasis on customer service, even serial and periodic managerial changes combine to effect changes in channel distribution models over years and decades. New programs and policies are often cosmetic, leading seasoned channel players and observers to cynically conclude that there's nothing new under the sun.
Thankfully, such a jaded perspective does not reflect reality, at least not in the broadest sense. There is one constant over the years, however. It's called "Channel Conflict."
The lone wolf syndrome does sometimes trump a collaborative approach to managing and completing tasks or reaching goals. In sales, the single practitioner can carve out a handsome living selling services and tangible products. Mechanics, housekeepers, insurance salespeople, and tax accountants come to mind. But growth beyond the traditional "mom and pop" level almost always requires collaboration and the implementation of a "two hands are better than one" approach. This is when sales channel turf skirmishes can and often do escalate into full-scale warfare.
Multiple channels are essential to preventing growth stagnation and achieving maximum market coverage and sales. At the risk of sounding melodramatic, a supplier's masterful management of distribution channels can determine a product's or service's ultimate survival in a highly competitive marketplace, irrespective of the overall economy's health. What to do?
First of all, suppliers should not fret or make any effort to eliminate conflict. A manageable degree of it is a positive indicator of strong demand and effective market penetration. It is also a barometer that product and service offerings are striking a chord by addressing customer needs. Without conflict, suppliers and distributors would be wise to reassess their value.
Thoughtful marketing programs ensure that there is plenty to go around for everyone across the channel. Continued optimal maximization of each channel partner, including VARs, systems integrators, distributors, and retailers, requires suppliers to know end-user preferences like the back of their hands. What you don't know will hurt you!
Some users require a never-ending outpouring of tender loving care and handholding, while others eschew such a doting approach in favor of no-frills, high-volume discounts. Regardless of customer preference, well-trained and fairly compensated channel partners will respect their "competitors" when suppliers provide:
• Equal training and certification programs for each partner;
• Discounts to channel market makers that go the extra mile by identifying new customers and that effectively address tangential product and service requirements; and,
• Compensation programs that reward salespeople, regardless of who makes the final sale, including increased quotas for direct salespeople in a sales model that also includes indirect channel partners.
As noted, these basic tenets of channel marketing apply equally in any economic climate. As we outwardly and eagerly march toward economic recovery, an unbiased assessment or reassessment of your channel program will position you, your channel partners and end users to reap the most rewards.

The Harman Kardon HKTS-18 5.1 Channel Speaker System is a complete channel speaker system that has a lot of solid features. It comes with a video-shielded dual 3 drivers and 3/4 dual dome. It is powered by 200 watts of amplifier power, 8-ohm nominal impedance and 10 woofer bass reflex exposure.
The Harman Kardon HKTS-18 5.1 Channel speaker System is very versatile and can be easily used with other home theater components. First and foremost the speakers sound great and have a solid bass. The tops of the satellite speakers are made out of metal giving it an impressive build. The base speaker is very big and can be used as a side or coffee table. This time around Harman Kardon's HKTS has greatly improved the sound balance between its speakers where the dynamic range, dispersion and frequency response are equally matched so that the speakers blend quite well with each other.
The Harman Kardon HKTS-18 5.1 Channel Speaker System comes with a number of advanced features like the multi coloured LED power indicator. When it shows yellow, it means the system is on but the signal strength is too low while when it shows blue it means the system is on. It also has an audio-sense or external-trigger on/off and a line-level Sub/LFE input. Also included is a wall-mount bracket for the center and satellite speakers. This is an outstanding product and works well with other home theater systems. It usually takes a lot to please me but it was pretty difficult to find any fault with this new model.

The Sales Channel Solution
Direct sales jobs often seen as the initial proving ground for young college graduates across industries and businesses. Whether it is a product, a service, financial, pharmaceutical, industrial, consumer or advertising, direct sales forces have traditionally been the revenue engines for business. But as technology, demographics and buying behavior have changed over the past decade, there are signs that the traditional direct sales force may be going the way of the typewriter and carbon paper.
Cost. Direct sales forces are costly. They require extensive management, systems and tools, training and often office infrastructure. Additionally, they are generally paid an amount of base pay plus benefits before they get a penny of sales commission. In effect, they are usually on salary with sales commission from 25-50% of their pay. But even if they do not sell a penny of product or service, they still get their base pay, their benefits and all the expenses associated with them and their management has to be paid also.
Flexibility. Direct sales forces are inflexible. Usually they have a fixed organization structure tied either to an account or a territory. Their management is an aggregation of the same. As is their executive management. Any changes to this structure usually happen annually, if then. The same holds true to compensation plans. Direct sales forces usually have annual sales compensation plans. Yes, they do have periodic promotions, incentives and "kickers". But these are almost always incremental (on top of) the annual sales incentive plans.
Resellers. Most companies have some level of dealers, distributors, wholesalers or manufacturer's representatives. In most cases, these structures are above and beyond the direct sales force. They are not employees of corporation they represent. Often they are local and geographically focused. In other cases they target specifics markets or customers. Dealers, distributors and resellers are usually not corporate organization men or women. They are more entrepreneurial; customer focused and keep costs to a minimum.
Off-shoring. Whether you love or hate off-shoring, it is a fact of life for all types of businesses. Selling that does not have to be face to face - whether is a product, a service, aftermarket or upgrade can be done remotely. In many cases, the combination of catalogs, television and the internet have made it possible to do must more selling remotely rather than face-to-face. This can be done with high levels of cost and quality control too. When was the last time a direct sales team was focused on reducing costs and improving quality?
The reality. It is unlikely that the direct sales force will totally disappear from the corporate organization chart. The largest customers often demand their own account executive to serve them. But increasing, it is possible the meet the needs of customers of all sizes without a direct sales force by effectively using combinations of dealers, distributors, resellers, off shoring and utilizing the latest technology. In addition to increased sales and customer satisfaction, these distribution alternatives serve to reduce sales and overhead expenses plus increase the level of flexibility - all important steps toward being more competitive and profitable.
